Louisiana Teacher Blogger Meetup In Review & Swag Bag Giveaway

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting with a group of awesome ladies at the 1st Annual Louisiana Teacher Blogger Meetup in Baton Rouge, LA. This meetup started as an idea in my head and I was so glad to have it come to life! I must say thank you to Kristi and Jessica for all of their hardwork in helping me plan this wonderful event.  (KEEP READING)

Teacher Blogger Meetup In Review

The theme for the meetup was “Future’s So Bright, We Gotta Wear Our Shades,” so the décor centered around sunglasses. From the name badges to the table decorations, everything was styled around our theme.

Darleen created these super cute cookies. She even made cookies in the shape of sunglasses…ahh, I live!

We started the day with introductions and a fun ice breaker game.  Next, Jessica gave a great presentation about blogging. She explained some important blogging terms and provided us with tips and tricks.

Then Mia presented about TpT. As the 2nd highest TpT earner for Louisiana, I knew that she would be a valuable resource to our meetup. Listening to her really opened my eyes about how to improve my TpT store and market my items. I have already set goals for myself for the rest of the year.

During lunch, we were able to mingle and visit at the Baton Rouge A+PEL vendor table.

After lunch, we split up into grade levels and had great discussions about teaching. It was great to listen to how everyone handled homework and behavior in their classrooms.

And of course we had lots of door prizes! I won a cute Vera Bradley bag. The best part was that everyone walked away with a door prize!

At the end of our meetup, we did our teacher gift exchange which was so much fun. I received a gift from Mia and she received my gift. What a coincidence?!

Before leaving, everyone got a teacher swag bag plus a goodie bag from Go Noodle!

Again, this was an AMAZING experience. I truly enjoyed meeting each and every one of these ladies. I want to do this every year, and hopefully it will grow and be better each year. We all promised to stay connected and I hope we do just that!

Here are all of the sponsors for our event.  We seriously thank every single sponsor for helping us make this meetup even more of a success.

  9. Jasmine a mere THANK YOU is not enough! I am thrilled to have been part of this first ever Blogger MeetUp and I am forever indebted to you. Branching out and trying something new like blogging for me has been a somewhat daunting experience. Knowing there are friendly faces who are more than happy to help makes a huge difference. Again, I can't thank you enough! Have a happy summer!

  10. Jasmine,
I am so happy that you took the time to make this event happen. I learned so much from the blogers that I met. I already have people asking about next year's meetup. Job well done.

  11. Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm trying to get a TpT meet-up together for the NY/NJ area. I've never done it before, and I've never been to one either =(
Can you offer any suggestions or tips? How did you get donations? Did you charge attendees? Again, any advice is GREATLY appreciated!
